If you are shopping for a new home or looking for ways to lower costs, heat pumps can provide both heating and cooling, and in some cases, hot water heating.

In areas where natural gas is not available, heat pumps are a popular alternative, but using only a heat pump for all your heating needs would not be reasonably priced, or even possible. Most heat pumps use electricity as a power source. Additional heat such as gas, oil, electric and wood is used when the temperature falls below about 5C, or 42F. However, if you already have a heating system and you are considering air-conditioning, a heat pump can be an economical way to heat or cool the house for most of the year.
Heat pumps are part of every day life these days. You might not always recognize a heat pump when you see one, but at this moment, heat pumps are working hard in your home, making life more enjoyable.

I have installed a Coleman Echelon heat pump. I compared it with other name brand heat pumps and found its performance to be the best rated. The outdoor unit is quieter than any of the others. I made it a point to listen to the noise level of the other units. I have it outside my bedroom and I cant hear it. I love this unit and am very pleased with it.
